350 gms Basmati Rice

100 gms Onions

4 Green Chilies

30 gms Ginger

20 gms Garlic

1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder

1 tsp Red Chili Powder

1 cup Curd

1 tsp Saffron

2 tbsp Milk

1/3 cup Mint ( Pudina leaves )

1/3 cup Coriander Leaves

50 gms Cashewnuts

50 gms Almonds

120 gms Ghee

Salt To taste


  • Wash and soak basmati rice for 1 hour. Then add some water to basmati rice and bring it to boil and cook it until the rice is half done and then drain the water.
  • Slice the
    onions and green chilies. Peel ginger,garlic and chop them finely. similarly chop coriander and mint leaves.
  • Soak the almond in water for 1 hour.
  • Beat the curd in the bowl and keep it aside. Divide it into 2 portions.
  • Dissolve saffron in warm milk and it in one portion o curd.
  • Heat ghee+ chicken pieces+ garam masala+onions+green chillies+ginger+garlic+ mix them for a minute+ then turmeric+chilli powder+add the 2nd portion of curd+ cook them for 3 min+ now sprinkle little saffron curd, mint & coriander.
  • Now spread the half cooked rice and close the lid tightly put it on stove. It cookes on dum. It should be cooked for 15 to 20 min.
  • Serve it hot with Mirch ka salan............ It taste's YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!
